Virtual White Cane Day Celebration

The President of the United States annually recognizes White Cane Day by the Blind Americans Equality Day Proclamation in October to acknowledge the abilities of people who are blind and to promote equal opportunities as any other American.

The mission of White Cane Day is to educate the world about blindness and how the blind and visually impaired can live and work independently while giving back to their communities, to celebrate the abilities and successes achieved by blind people in a sighted world and to honor the many contributions being made by the blind and visually impaired.

Join us for a Virtual White Cane Day Celebration! This year’s celebration is virtual and celebrations will include pictures and video clips sent in by you wearing your White Cane Day t-shirts and walking in your neighborhoods or in their homes with homemade signs.

We will have music by students from Texas School for the Blind, followed by inspirational keynote speakers including a University of Texas San Antonio graduate and owner of Alyssa’s Beads for Life Alyssa Minwell.
