“Congratulations to Richland College, Dallas County Manufacturers’ Association, Garland Chamber of Commerce and Greater Dallas Workforce Solutions on this grant which will provide training to eight local manufacturing employers and help maintain a highly skilled workforce,” said TWC Commissioner Representing Employers Aaron Demerson. “This investment is perfect example of a win-win situation. The employers benefit by receiving a custom-trained workforce and the employees benefit by receiving high-quality training and an opportunity to both start and continue a career in the best state in the nation.”

This grant will be used to provide custom training to 272 new and incumbent workers for industry-related topics with focused instruction on manufacturing. Trainees will include welders, cutters, inspectors, testers and electrical engineers.

Since its inception in 1996, the Skills Development Fund grants have created or upgraded more than 285,633 jobs throughout Texas.
