AUSTIN – The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is the state agency that oversees and provides workforce development services. We help strengthen the Texas economy as part of the Governor's economic development strategy. TWC is part of Texas Workforce Solutions, which includes 28 local workforce development boards that offer employer and job seeker services at more than 170 offices statewide.

The Lone Star State has a record workforce of 15.85 million working-age Texans. Our workforce supports more than 676,000 employers, the most in our state’s history.

We’re recognizing the accomplishments of Texans:

  • Apprentices: There are more than 1,000 registered apprenticeship programs and more than 36,500 active apprentices across the state—an 84% increase compared to five years ago.
  • Persons with Disabilities: More than 69,000 Texans have received Vocational Rehabilitation services this year and more than 11,000 students have received support through the Summer Earn and Learn program over the last five years.
  • Veterans: Hiring Red, White, and You! job fairs have connected 26,500 employers to more than 52,000 Veterans.
  • Skilled Workers: Skills Development Fund grants have upgraded or supported the creation of more than 435,000 jobs across Texas.
  • Career Explorers: Career Coaches have connected students with career resources through more than 945,000 education outreach engagements since 2019.

We are here to help guide your career journey and connect you to opportunities. Find your local Workforce Solutions office to explore job search resources and discover training opportunities at twc.texas.gov/find-locations.
