AUSTIN ⎯ The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) has awarded Workforce Solutions South Plains a $149,808 High Demand Job Training (HDJT) grant to prepare local students for long-term, in-demand careers.  These resources will equip students at six small and rural schools in the South Plains region with specialized, high-demand skills.

“With these funds, schools in the Lubbock region will support training initiatives that expand talent pipelines to meet new job market needs and boost local economic growth,” said TWC Chairman Joe Esparza. “I want to applaud Workforce Solutions South Plains and the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance for taking the initiative to ensure students have the best training possible to succeed in their careers.”
