To be eligible for Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) programs and services, individuals must meet appropriate WIOA eligibility requirements. When determining an individual's WIOA eligibility, where low-income status must be determined, Workforce Development Boards use the income guidelines identified by the U.S. Department of Labor’s (DOL) Lower Living Standard Income Level (LLSIL) guidelines and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Poverty Guidelines. Each of these guidelines is updated annually, and the Texas Workforce Commission updates this page twice a year with the new income amounts and effective dates.
The following income guidelines are compared and the higher dollar amount for each family size is used to establish Texas’ WIOA low-income eligibility standards:
