Upskill Texas Healthcare

The Texas Workforce Commission made $2 million available to employers. These funds provide training for current employees through the Upskill Texas Healthcare initiative.

TWC invites healthcare organizations with 100 or more employees to apply for funds for training in patient care occupations. This includes publicly funded healthcare employers. To be eligible, employees must have worked for the employer for six months or more. A group of employees may receive the training if most of them worked for the employer for more than six months.

Funding is available through Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act federal grant funds. Individual awards will range from $150,000-$500,000. Employers must provide at least 50% of the training costs, which can include trainee wages.
