Governor Abbott, TWC Announce Over $405,000 In Career Training Grants For Austin Area Schools

AUSTIN - Governor Greg Abbott today announced two grants totaling $405,954 have been awarded to two schools in the Austin area. The Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) grants, awarded by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), will support career and technical education (CTE) training programs by helping the schools purchase and install equipment to initially train 195 students for high-demand occupations as welders and HVAC mechanics.
