AUSTIN ⎯ The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) has awarded Workforce Solutions Cameron a $150,000 High Demand Job Training (HDJT) grant to prepare area workers for long-term, in-demand careers.

“Partnerships between educators, economic development groups, and employers are the key to ensuring Texans have skills to succeed in the workforce,” said TWC Commissioner Representing Employers Joe Esparza. “With TWC support, these local efforts will continue to provide upskilling opportunities for jobseekers, address employer demand, and drive the Texas economy.”

Workforce Solutions Cameron will use the grant in partnership with Greater Brownsville Incentives Corporation and Brownsville Independent School District Adult Continuing Education to train 78 workers for high-demand careers in construction and transportation.
