AUSTIN – The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) has received the 2025 Full Employment Award from the American Institute for Full Employment (AIFE). AIFE, a non-profit focused on solving unemployment, presents the award annually to organizations or individuals with outstanding commitment to helping unemployment insurance (UI) claimants return to work.

AUSTIN ⎯ Governor Greg Abbott today announced a Skills Development Fund (SDF) grant award totaling over $79,000 to Texas State Technical College (TSTC) by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). Through this grant, TSTC will provide customized training for 40 new and current workers at USG Corporation’s Sweetwater facility for high-demand occupations in industrial building construction.

AUSTIN ⎯ Governor Greg Abbott today announced a Skills Development Fund (SDF) grant award totaling over $163,000 to Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). Through this grant, Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area will provide customized training for 66 new and current workers at Tekscend Photomask Round Rock Inc. for high-demand occupations in machinery manufacturing.

AUSTIN ⎯ The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is currently accepting applications to serve on the Advisory Committee of the Purchasing from People with Disabilities Program, also known as the Works Wonders Program. The committee is made up of 13 members who advise TWC on matters relating to the Works Wonders program. Works Wonders assists individuals with disabilities in achieving independence through productive employment.
