Jobs Y’all – Career Exploration

Jobs Y'all is a program that shows young Texans the many different careers available in Texas. It inspires them to learn about different industries and explore their options. The program's goal is to help students figure out what education and training they need to get the job they want. 

This page helps students explore top industries and develop career goals. It also gives parents, teachers, counselors, and mentors tools to support their students.

Student Resources 

Texas Career Check is a great place to start career exploration. Take a quiz to identify occupations relevant to your interests. Conduct a side-by-side occupation comparison. Learn which occupations will be in demand in years to come. Then, research and compare education options. This will help you find the training program, college, or university that's right for you.  Finally, create a personal graduation plan to share with your counselor. 

 

Texas Reality Check will show you how much your living expenses will cost. The calculators can help you research which jobs will pay enough to cover your expenses. These calculators also show how your cost of living may vary by location. 

The Texas Internship Challenge is where you can find and apply to internships in Texas. Internships help you explore careers, gain skills, and network with professionals. This site can help you create your first resume. You can search and apply for opportunities by occupation or location. 

With MyTXCareer you can find careers based on your experience, skills, and interests. MyTXCareer is a mobile app available for download in the Apple and Google Play stores. The app will create career pathways to help you advance in your desired career. It also provides career resources and training provided by the Texas workforce system

WorkinTexas.com is our statewide career matching site for Texans. It features thousands of job postings, including all Texas state agency jobs. You can use this site to create resumes, assess your skills and research training options. Additionally, you can set up a search agent to review job postings and notify you of jobs that match your skills.
